CNS News reports Cindy Sheehan is coming out of retirement to participate in an anti-war rally Saturday, September 15 in Washington D.C."If the rest of America heard about it," Sheehan said of the protest efforts scheduled for the weekend, "it might really start a revolution."
Oh really? Most Americans don't regard her or her leftist group antics with any credibility or attention. But, the folks at ANSWER have come up with a plan to get noticed:
Brian Becker, ANSWER's national coordinator, told reporters at a news conference Wednesday that the demonstration "will be unlike any other anti-war protest in recent years because it will culminate in a massive civil disobedience," referring to the "die-in."
That's right, folks. They (and most three-year-olds I've known) demand our attention and will stop at little to get it. However, Sheehan, et. al will not be ignored by a growing faction of counter-protesters also planning a rally in D.C., "Gathering of Eagles"
Dubbed "Operation Eagle Justice," the GOE events will start with a rally on the National Mall and conclude with a counter-demonstration along the ANSWER march route. "As ANSWER and their allies in the hate-America crowd will stumble by, we will treat them to some good old-fashioned, red-blooded American 'free speech,'" the group says on its Web site.
Here in St. Paul this Saturday, our own activists will be gathering to counter-protest anti-war leftists at their planned rally and march. Expect street theater from the left, and facts (with humorous retorts) from the right. It's worth the experience to witness leftists in action, and to show them that we have a voice, too.
