Come Support the President Saturday in Chanhassen

Written by Derek Brigham on 05 October 2004.

In case you have not heard, President Bush will be making another appearance here in Minnesota. It is a great feeling to be wanted, and this state will be painted red for the first time in 30 years, come November with your help. This event is very important because it is the first televised event following the much anticipated 2nd debate. It will be held in Center City Park, behind City Hall in Chanhassen, 7700 Market Blvd, 55317. Tickets can be picked up starting today from 8 am to 9 pm at Bush HQ, 1445 Energy Park Drive, St. Paul 651-645-5614, or 8126 Mallory Court in Chanhassen, 55317.
Asst. Executive Director for the MN Bush/Cheney campaign KC Jones is absolutely convinced that this state will go Bush if we all do our part by contributing a shift or two of time to phone calls, door knocking, poll watching, etc. So please contact Bush/Cheney HQ at 651-645-5614 and get involved. We need to also emphasize the big final 72 hour push (story coming from Guy Collins). Your individual effort at the local level could bring the extra vote turns the state red and gives the President our 10 electoral votes!

Buffalo Jim called me from Fargo a few minutes ago and asked, "Chief, what do you think about this neck and neck polling?" I told him the polls of any reputation have not changed, and per history always favor the Democrat inaccurately. From the time of the debate until now I have been of the HHewit camp—Bush won hands down on important issues and more important than that, Kerry dealt himself several specific body blows and walked away smiling unknowingly like a botoxed Nutcracker. Hewitt notes today:

The president used tough rhetoric in Iowa yesterday, and scored a direct hit on the greatest vulnerability in the Kerry campaign:

"'The policies of my opponent are dangerous for world peace,'' Mr. Bush said. 'If they were implemented, they would make this world not more peaceful, but more dangerous.'"

It doesn't get any more blunt, or accurate, than that, and on that assertion the election will be won. "Global tests" plus appeasement of Iran and North Korea and the law enforcement model for the war on terrorism are the policies Kerry laid out Thursday, and they are the policies Kerry is stuck with.

Tonight's VP Debate
After last week's debate, the Kerry campaign spin machine managed to mask their candidate's flip-flops on the war in Iraq, imposition of a "global test" for protecting America, and repeated denigration of our troops and allies.

If we plan to win the election, we must fight back against their spin and make sure our friends and neighbors get the truth.
