Shhh!

Written by Yappy on 27 December 2009.

I heard Pat Caddell, still a pollster but formerly a Jimmy Carter adviser, on Michael Medved's show a few days ago.  He was saying something to the effect that he couldn't understand how Democrats-- "his party"-- could be doing something so at odds with what the voting public wants, and thus detrimental to their electoral chances.  "Like lemmings following each other over a cliff" was the expression he used.

Now it has always been my considered opinion that if you have an overwhelming number of pesky vermin busily destroying your livelihood when they suddenly decide to plunge themselves into the sea instead, you should LET them!  Yet I see so many conservative bloggers and pundits gleefully prating about how the Democrats are destroying their electoral chances in 2010.  Quiet!  Don't let them hear you!   I know, the chances of them being bright enough to notice amid their rainbow highs and unicorn dreams is slim, but it is not zero.  Eleven months is a long time, and Republicans still have to find good candidates, fund their campaigns and get the truth about these liberal lemmings out past the protective phalanx of the MSM.  And then make the campaign about "a positive vision," as if banishing this Clown Cabal wasn't a totally sufficient positive in itself.  Instead of trying to dissuade them from cliff-jumping, we should be quietly planning how we will insure their downfall.  Shhh!
