Today I spent a good part of the day supporting the troops and their mission, in Joe Repya's organized stand against the anarkids anti-RNC, anti-military, anti-establishment, anti-America, anti-prosperity protest. And there were some punks looking for big trouble as this excellent collection of video and images by the Strib shows.
We were positioned at a small park in front of the Xcel center as they circled around us shouting challenges, words of disgust, hate, and flat out vile ugliness. We stood our ground and said "have a nice day".
Some of the human garbage in the anarkids ranks smashed windows, overturned signs and structures, and smashed up a police car. If there were not such a great effort by law enforcement to break things up in nights leading up to this it would have been much worse. Here's a few photos form the day.

Protesters ranged from ultra violent vandals (The Strib had a photo of this piece of garbage smashing a window an hour after I shot this photo of his tirade to us)...
...to the entertainingly silly.

But most of them were the typical chanters of "Bush is a terrorist, McCain is a terrorist, blah blah blah..."
You gotta love this Freedom Dog...

The hard working police did...

That small triangle in front of the Xcel is us. Picture being circled by, well, shifty anarchists. Not a warm and fuzzy feeling. But I am glad I did it, another well played show of support for our soldiers by Col. Joe...

Oh, one last thing, on our way home, we were behind this mobile billboard challenging candidate Obama's promotion of abortion funding.
