At the CD-5 convention today in Robbinsdale, over 260 delegates unanimously and very enthusiastically endorsed candidate Barb Davis White to run against Keith Ellison this November. White called the two dozen supporters with her on stage and everyone in the room her family — and noted that she shared the stage with Christians, Jews, Muslims and those of other faiths. The Staple Sister's "I'll take you there" played as White promised to take us and conservative values with her to Washington.
Governor Pawlenty, Senator Norm Coleman, Rep. Marty Seifert, State Party Chair Ron Carey and other guests all promoted the critical necessity of a unified party and positive optimism to win. Today's Seifertism was (paraphrased), "we need to get rid of the RINOs in our party and bring back the elephants," which was followed by loud cheers and applause.
Notably absent from the convention was the media, and we'll see how much longer they can ignore Barb Davis White. For those who've met Barb, we know she won't be ignored. She said the opponent doesn't see her coming, but we all hope to see her winning. Fellow FreedomDogs Chief, Diamond Dog and Molossus were present today. As I served as convention Secretary I had a great viewing perspective, but recording minutes didn't allow me to catch the nuances. Please add your thoughts of today's events.
