My nephew got a new job. Of and by itself, this is not really what we in the Freedom Dogs World Bureau call Hard News. But, theres a little more to the story
My nephew works (worked) for a major Twin Cities soft drink distributor. Recently, their union went to bat for them through negotiations. Management came back with one offer: no raises, no increase in benefits and no further discussions. Take it or leave it.
The reason for managements intractability: cheap foreign labor has flooded their Human Resources Department. The word has gotten out!
Now, tell me that immigrants are doing only the jobs Americans wont. The fact no one wants to discuss is that immigrants are driving the cost of labor down in a lot of industries and more and more Americans, willing to do the work, are being displaced.
