Was driving just behind a young deer sprinting beside my truck hoping she would not jump out... Passed me gracefully doing 35 mph. Awesome.
If you want to see high school kids and technology in action, FIRST Robotics competitions are a blast. My husband's employer is a sponsor for Team 2177 "The Robettes" from Convent of the Visitation School. He's on the mechanical team and one of the mentors. Working with all girls was at first a challenge, but they caught on fast and a few are going for engineering degrees after they graduate. Other area schools are competiting today and tomorrow.
The competition is located at Williams Arena at the U of M, and admission is free. Great outing with the kids, or if you love to watch 'bots in action. Bring earplugs - the decibel range is through the roof.
